Many clients find that a review of their existing debt recovery procedures is very useful. We will advise on the efficiency of your existing systems and suggest amendments if appropriate.
Procedure:
- Writing a letter before action and supporting correspondence
- Issuing court proceedings, court fees will apply and vary with the size of the debt
- Enforcement action (if necessary)
Fees:
Competitive rates and a flexible charging structure will be agreed at the initial meeting.
- Hourly charging rates
- Percentage of the debt
- Fixed fee basis
Enforcement:
- County Court Bailiff or High Court Sheriff – The Bailiff/Sheriff will attend the premises of the debtor to seize goods to the value of the debt.
- Attachment of Earnings – Where the debtor is employed, an order can be made for the debtor to repay the debt owed direct from their wages.
- Third Party Debt Order – Should the debtor be owed money by a third party or have money in a bank or building society account, then an order can be made for the third party to pay the amount of the debt directly to you.
- Charging Order – This is essentially a mortgage which can be obtained over any land or property owned by the debtor in this country to secure the debt.
- Bankruptcy / Insolvency proceedings
